We are looking for 2x reliable and hardworking Artisan Assistants to support our Fitter in performing maintenance, inspections, and repair work across all GWK Silo Facilities. This role is hands-on and requires someone who is eager to learn, able to follow instructions, and comfortable working in physically demanding environments. Frequent travel between silo sites is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic electrical duties according to order and under supervision including the use of electrical hand equipment (grinder, drill, test meters) and basic welding experience; Assist in boiler making activities such as cutting, grinding, and basic welding where trained
• Assist in the fabrication, fitting, and assembly of mechanical parts and components
• Support artisans during mechanical builds, repairs, or custom installations
• Assist the Fitter with preventative maintenance on silos and related infrastructure
• Help with inspections of equipment, structures, chutes, valves, and mechanical components

Qualifications

• Grade 12/NQF4
• Strong mechanical and electrical experience in both fields is essential
• Troubleshooting is essential
• Ability to use basic hand tools (grinders, drills, spanners, etc)
